Taiwan Golf & Country Club – The Birthplace of Golf in Taiwan

Founded on June 1, 1919, Taiwan Golf & Country Club holds the distinction of being the first golf course in Taiwan. Among them is Lu Liang-Huan (Mr. Lu), a national golf treasure who made a remarkable impact at The Open Championship in the UK. Other legendary players include Tu Ai-Yu, a superstar on the Japanese tour, as well as Hsieh Min-Nan, Hsieh Yung-Yo, Kuo Chi-Hsiung, Hsu Sheng-San, Ho Ming-Chung, Huang Yueh-Chin, Lu Hsi-Chun, Lu Chien-Shun, Wang Te-Chang, Hsieh Yu-Shu, Chen Liang-Hsi, Hsieh Chin-Sheng, Yeh Chang-Ting, Yeh Wei-Chih, Lu Wei-Chih, and Lu Hsiao-Ching. Nestled at the foot of Datun Mountain and facing Guanyin Mountain across the river, Taiwan Golf & Country Club is a par-72, 18-hole championship course. The course presents a formidable challenge, with strong coastal winds sweeping in from the Taiwan Strait and the river estuary, demanding precise shot control. Adding to the challenge, century-old trees line both sides of the fairways, requiring strategic play and accuracy to score well.
